Ana-Maria Ciubota: The Branding Strategist Who Makes Entrepreneurs Impossible to Ignore

She Doesn’t Just Brand Entrepreneurs — She Crowns Them as Authorities

Most entrepreneurs don’t fail because they lack talent or a good product. They fail because nobody knows who they are. In a marketplace where attention is the new currency, being skilled is no longer enough — you have to be seen, trusted, and remembered before anyone will buy, invest, or refer business your way. It’s a problem that quietly stalls thousands of promising businesses every year: founders with real expertise who struggle to translate that expertise into visibility, credibility, and demand.

Ana-Maria Ciubota has built her career around solving exactly that problem. As an international brand strategist, PR expert, and Founder of Exclusive Branding Edge Academy, she works with entrepreneurs who are ready to stop blending in and start building a name that opens doors on its own. In this interview, she shares the thinking behind her approach to brand-building — and what it actually takes to turn expertise into authority.

Tell me a little bit about your background and how you ended up choosing your field.

Ana-Maria Ciubota: I moved to the UK over a decade ago with just £300 in my pocket, basic English, no professional network, and no guarantees.

My first job was as a casual waiter in hospitality. At that stage of my life, entrepreneurship wasn’t part of the plan. Like many people starting over in a new country, I was focused on learning, working hard, improving my English, paying my bills, and finding my place.

As I progressed into management, I had the opportunity to coordinate VIP events for some of the world’s most recognized luxury brands and influential individuals. What fascinated me wasn’t the prestige. It was the precision, the attention to detail, and the standards behind world-class brands.

I became fascinated by what makes certain brands unforgettable. Why do some names command trust, influence, and loyalty while others struggle to be remembered? The more I observed, the more I realized that exceptional brands are never built by chance — they are built intentionally.

That curiosity led me to pursue an MBA in International Marketing and Branding. My dissertation explored the luxury branding strategies behind Charlotte Tilbury, giving me a deeper understanding of consumer psychology, positioning, brand perception, and the principles that transform businesses into globally recognized brands.

It reinforced something I still believe today: exceptional brands are built with clarity, consistency, and intention.

Over time, that passion evolved into building businesses and products — masterclasses, courses, books, memberships, and technology-driven solutions designed to help entrepreneurs transform ideas into brands, brands into authority, and authority into opportunities.

What made you take the leap into entrepreneurship?

Ana-Maria Ciubota: Because I know what it’s like to start from scratch.

Most entrepreneurs don’t begin with investors, influential connections, or a clear roadmap. They begin with an idea, a vision, and the determination to keep going despite uncertainty. I lived that reality myself.

I know what it feels like to have ambition but no audience, ideas but no visibility, and the determination to succeed without knowing exactly where the path will lead. That experience shaped the way I see entrepreneurship.

I realized that many talented people never reach their potential — not because they lack ability, but because they struggle to position themselves, communicate their value, and build trust.

That’s why I chose this path. My mission has never been simply to help people build brands. It’s to help entrepreneurs discover their potential, position themselves with confidence, and build the credibility, authority, and visibility that create opportunities.

I believe every entrepreneur deserves to be seen, trusted, and remembered — not because they have the loudest voice, but because they have something valuable to contribute.

What were the biggest initial hurdles and how did you overcome them?

Ana-Maria Ciubota: Building credibility from scratch.

When nobody knows your name, your work has to speak before you do.

There were setbacks, failures, difficult decisions, and moments when progress felt invisible. Looking back, those experiences became some of my greatest teachers. They taught me resilience, patience, and adaptability.

Most importantly, they taught me that confidence isn’t something you wait for — it’s something you build through action. Every challenge you overcome becomes evidence that you’re capable of overcoming the next one.

How do you differentiate yourself from others in your field?

Ana-Maria Ciubota: I documented my entire business journey, the ups the downs, the wins.. everything.

Many people share success after they’ve achieved it. I chose to document the process while I was living it. Over the years, I’ve shared the lessons, mistakes, and breakthroughs that shaped my entrepreneurial journey through articles, interviews, books, educational programs, publications, and technology platforms.

People don’t only connect with results. They connect with growth, with authenticity, with possibility.

I believe reputation is built the same way a great brand is built — one promise, one action, and one contribution at a time. That’s why I don’t just teach branding. I show the journey behind building one.

How do you personally define success? What does it mean to you?

Ana-Maria Ciubota: Success, to me, is growth, impact, and contribution.

It’s not measured only by awards, recognition, or financial achievements. Those are milestones, not destinations.

Success is becoming the person capable of creating the next opportunity, solving bigger problems, and leaving more value behind than you did yesterday. The greatest reward of success isn’t what it gives you — it’s who it requires you to become.

When your growth creates opportunities for other people, success becomes something far bigger than a personal achievement.

What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business success?

Ana-Maria Ciubota: Curiosity.

I’ve always been curious about how things work, how they can be improved, and what becomes possible when you’re willing to look beyond the obvious answer.

That curiosity pushed me to keep learning, to step outside my comfort zone, to embrace innovation, learn from people who were ahead of me, and stay open to opportunities I couldn’t yet see.

I believe curiosity and courage work together. Curiosity helps you discover new possibilities; courage gives you the confidence to pursue them. The more curious I became, the more opportunities I found — and every opportunity taught me something I could never have learned standing still.

One lesson has stayed with me through every stage of my journey: every new level of growth demands a new version of yourself. Growth begins the moment you’re willing to move beyond what’s familiar and become the person your future requires.

And throughout that journey, I’ve learned another principle that guides everything I do:

Your name is the strongest asset you will ever own. Build it intentionally.
