Rico Handjaja- Exclusive Interview With Silicon Valley Times

Interviewer: Good afternoon, Rico. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Can you start by telling us a bit about yourself and what inspired you to start Me Lead Me?

Rico Handjaja: Good afternoon, and thank you for having me. I’m Rico Handjaja, the founder of Me Lead Me. My journey into the world of leadership content creation began with a deep passion for leadership and personal development. I’ve always been fascinated by the power of leadership in shaping organizations and individuals.

Interviewer: Can you elaborate on what Me Lead Me is all about and what kind of content you publish?

Rico Handjaja: Certainly! Me Lead Me is a leadership and personal development dedicated platform. My purpose is to enable everyone to be great leaders in their personal and professional life. I think Leadership is not just for people in positions of authority, but something anyone can hone and use for good.

It’s a multimedia platform — I have articles right now and soon we will launch videos, podcasts, and online courses — all centered around leadership in different ways. The topics covered in this content include leadership styles, communication skills, emotional intelligence, team building, mindset and many more. I want to deliver the practical and actionable advice that people can take away and apply in their regular lives.

Interviewer: That sounds like a valuable resource for anyone looking to enhance their leadership skills. What do you believe sets Me Lead Me apart from other leadership-focused platforms?

Rico Handjaja: Great question. The thing that makes Me Lead Me different is that I am focused on personal growth and self-awareness as the underpinnings of good leadership. Though I do give tools and methods for leadership in a work setting, I know that true leadership starts within and with leading yourself.

I challenge my audience to think about what values they hold, what they are good at, what they need to improve, and to continue to work on their personal development. I think this is why self-awareness is important in order to become a good leader/inspire others.

I also aim to make the content accessible and relatable. Leadership can be a big and abstracted term, so I translate it into simple, doable things that anyone can do. Whether the reader is an experienced leader or a fresh graduate, Me Lead Me has content for them.

Interviewer: Can you please share some advice to our reader on how they can gain a growth mindset?

Rico Handjaja: Certainly, here are five tips to help readers develop a growth mindset:

Embrace Challenges: See setbacks and challenges as opportunities for learning instead of as failures. Recognize that it’s through hardships and learning from them that you will evolve new skills and capabilities. When you face a challenge, look at it with curiosity and think that you can learn from it.

Persist Through Effort: Know that it’s a journey to mastering. Don’t avoid tasks that are going to be difficult — tackle them head on. Know it’s alright to mess up because you learn from it. Work is the key to progress and improvement.

Cultivate a Love for Learning: Create a real interest and hunger for knowledge. Look for new information and experiences. Keep extending yourself, and always try something new. With a growth mindset, you are fueled by a love of learning and the belief that there is always more to learn.

Replace “I Can’t” with “I Can’t Yet”: Switch the phrase “I can’t do this” to “I can’t do this yet.” It’s just little, yet by making these simple changes in the language, you are admitting that you haven’t yet learned the skill, you haven’t yet completed a goal, It restructures limitations as fleeting and fluid.

Surround Yourself with Growth-Oriented People: The people you surround yourself with can impact your perspective. Surround yourself with people who have a growth mindset. Get involved in conversations, collaborations, and relationships that help you grow and learn. These connections can motivate and strengthen your dedication to change.

By applying these tips as a way of thinking and in your life, you can develop a growth mindset, to embrace challenges, keep pushing through hardship and always develop as a person.
