What advice would you give to someone asking for advice about becoming an entrepreneur?

Balancing fear. It is okay to have concerns and fear though don’t let it keep you away from going after what you would like to do. Life is like a casting call, and it is okay to not get the role. One just has to keep trying over and over again while being okay with failing. You can’t learn until you fail at something. Just go after it. Talk less and just show actions. Also be realistic and have a game plan for how you will get there. Can’t talk about winning the lottery until you go out and actually buy a ticket. Then see what happens.

We are entering an era where everyone is interested in multiple income streams. How does one decide on a business to pursue?

Motivation comes from doing what you love. Some people make decisions of going into professions where they can make a lot of money. People who are really successful in life really enjoy what they do. They usually love the game of it from the ups and downs where to them money is nice but it’s the game. Money is just a way of keeping score but at the end of the day one should go into what they love to do. Everything else will usually follow with that. I don’t believe the industry matters as much. It is the energy and passion the individual brings to the business.

Who is your hero and why?

Easy, my mom and my dad. They work all the time. They never stop working and that is their life. I strive to have their tenacity and determination along with confidence like them in their careers. My whole entire life they have made things clear that anything worthwhile will not be a sprint but an extremely long marathon. Hanging out with my parents makes me realize that I wouldn’t want to have it any other way but going after growth from working very hard though being realistic about goals.

What do you do to recharge when you are feeling drained?

Lay on the beach, swim, hot tub, and Netflix.

If you had to pick a charity to give to, who would it be and why?

A charity involving women in technology and ocean cleanup. I am very passionate about both and very active in ocean cleanup. I recently have all intentions of getting more involved with helping other women in technology. I want women to have more abilities to advance in their roles and careers.

How do you think technology will affect the way we do business 10 years from now?

Technology will greatly affect how we do business 10 years from now. There are more and more companies that are implementing technology in their daily operations. There are companies that are becoming reliant on certain technology to protect their business as well. As more time will pass, there will be more adoption of technology. Technology has become a culture in a way where companies as well have a digital presence to increase their ways of communicating to new consumers or showing clients that they are there. For employers and employees, the communication channels have often become a cultural element of business from zoom meetings to more interactive ways of presenting information digitally. I only believe that will increase where things will be improved to the existent model to allow for more additions. I believe that more companies will be operating digitally from finance, online shopping in new interactive ways to more gamified experiences with training people for their careers. The transportation of information will only increase and new ways of communication along with manufacturing with other fields will simplify many processes. 10 years from now our technology will be at another level.
