We’re aware you’re currently residing and working in the Chicago area. Have you always sold real estate there or did you get your start elsewhere

I’ve lived in the Chicago area all my life. My consulting business helps agents and consumers in all 50 states and globally. Many times, we have agents or sellers outside of Illinois contact us. But I’m only licensed in Illinois.

We saw on your social media channels that you visited Dubai for a conference. What were the key takeaways from this experience?

When people think of global wealth and luxury, they think of Dubai. My key takeaway from this experience was just an amazing experience and I toured developments and subdivisions. I look forward to going back again next year. My big takeaway is how clean that city was, how much wealth there is in the world, and it was just an amazing experience.

Word on the street is that you are putting together a luxury real estate anthology where top luxury real estate professionals will be featured. Tell us more about this project.

I’m putting together a book on Secrets of Top Luxury Agents where it is an invite-only exclusive book where 20 top global real estate agents will be contributing their chapter. It’s called an anthology book and we’re excited because I do think it is going to raise the bar for the industry.

As a global leader in the luxury real estate world, what are your thoughts on the current state of the housing market countrywide?

The current state of the housing market is still strong due to the shortage of supply. There are not a lot of homes on the market so the homes that do come on the market still tend to be moving but certain pockets still don’t have much movement. Days on the market are increasing and prices are going down. Certain pockets still have multiple offers. In general, 2023 is different than 2008 when the market turned, and we had a recession because then there were a lot of homes sitting on the market going into the recession and here that’s not the case.

What are three things that you personally would look for when buying a home for yourself

The first two things I personally look for when I’m buying a house are the home’s floorplan and the location. How are the neighbors? Do I like the location for a resale? Does it have good schools? We recently moved two years ago and those were the things I looked for. The third thing is my family. How excited are they about the home? I don’t want to buy something I love but they don’t like it. Luckily, the house we purchased a few years ago was one everybody loved.
