Additionally, children who use electronic devices for long periods may experience negative effects on their health like headaches, ADHD, and depression.
Meet Emma Ye, Founder of B.C.D.(Buchadian) Edu Group and B.C.D( Buchadian) Arts and Music Studio. She is on a mission to provide a safe and supportive place for children so that they can unplug from electronics and discover themselves. With the Buchadian Edu Group, children learn how to have positive relationships with each other, work together to achieve common goals, and explore their creative potential while having access to the support and guidance they need to unlock their full self-expression.
There are many creative arts and crafts that can help children learn about their world. Some of these activities include Drawing and Painting, Music, and Dance.
Children who use electronic devices often do not have enough time to fully engage in traditional activities like sleep, eating, or play. This can lead to negative consequences for their development as well as their physical health.
Parents need to make sure they are regularly checking in on their children’s activities and screens, and that they take steps to protect their children from harm while online.
Today we’re excited to interview Emma Ye, who has become a role model to many parents and helps children to enhance their skills and find passion.
Hello Emma, please tell us a little bit about your background and how you ended up choosing your field.
Emma Ye: Thank you for your invitation. I’m happy to be here and share my story with the audience. I have an early childhood bachelor’s degree, with an MBA degree graduated in 2012. Previously I worked with 2 fortune 500 companies as an Executive Assistant and worked in different industries as a team leader and supervisor. I’m also a licensed customs broker and positive discipline educator.
I always had an entrepreneurial spirit in me, as I became a mother of 2, this grew more and I felt drawn to build up something for kids. That led me to start “Buchadian Edu Group”(Buchadian means Screen-free in Chinese) in 2020. Now it has grown, and we also provide different essential creative courses, such as Creative Art, Piano Music Group and Junior Chef classes for children.
What made you take the leap into entrepreneurship?
Emma Ye: As a mother, I realized there are very few resources that provide proper guidance for parenthood. I wanted to change that and create a comfortable community for struggling and working moms so that they can take better care of themselves and their children. Many new parents feel overwhelmed and often find themselves under stress. To make parenthood easier and make a positive impact on children’s lives, I took the leap into entrepreneurship.
With the Buchadian Edu Group, I’m on a mission to empower children to become the best version of themselves. I believe that by empowering children, we can create a generation that is engaged in our community and has a vested interest in making it a better place.
How do you differentiate yourself from others in your field?
We combine Eastern education with western education in order to offer students a unique and exciting learning experience. Rather than fit all students into one box, we reach students where they are, help them develop discipline, but do not force an education style. We believe that besides screen time and the AI world, there is lots of beauty around us – around children. We know that not all children have access to these things, but we believe that if we provide opportunities for them to learn critical thinking, communication, and how to find beauty in their lives, they will be more successful as adults.
The idea behind our program is to engage children in creative activities and allow them to explore their emotions, needs, and feelings. We believe that through art and music they will be able to find their inner voice.
We focus on sharing feelings and telling stories by children who create art or compose songs. The motivation behind their creativity comes from a sense of connection to the world around them, combined with a need for communication and empathy. Sharing feelings and telling stories is the future skill of children.
We believe that children can think outside of the box and create lots of innovative possibilities. We encourage them to use their creativity to solve problems and make things happen.
How did you deal with push backs from family or friends concerning your entrepreneurial pursuits?
There were many people who advised me not to pursue entrepreneurship but I always did my own thing that makes me happy. I always listen to what others say, but I follow my heart. By pursuing my calling, I am able to provide better results to my clients.
Even though entrepreneurship can be difficult at times, I’ve always had the utmost respect for my family’s customers and team members. My story is true, and I take great pride in being able to help others see the truth too. This is what has helped me to keep going as an entrepreneur.
I believe that commitment & dedication that has made me who I’m today. It is a challenging process, but with the right approach and support, I was able to provide great results. I always put 100% and never let any situation break me down towards this path of entrepreneurship.
